The Blue Pub Methven has budget accommodation available in true authentic kiwi pub style. The rooms however, are warm, clean and comfortable with singles, twins, doubles and even some king size beds. There is Sky TV in the lounge and a large private verandah to chill out on with some of the best views in town.
Other amenities include shared kitchenette and bathroom facilities, off street parking and best of all, you only need to walk across the road to catch your transport if you are heading up to Mt Hutt for a day of skiing or snowboarding.
The Blue's central location also means you are only a few minutes walk from Methven's array of shops, cafes, restaurants, movie theatre, skate park or whatever else you fancy.

After a hard day skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, rafting, fishing or any of the outdoor pursuits we have on offer; there is nothing better than settling down on the verandah enjoying a cold beer with some friends and reflecting on the day's adventure.
Once you have recharged the mind, the body will need to be charged up so try our excellent food, either in the Cafe, outside on the verandah or just pull up a stool at the bar and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Our menu has some great pub grub available as well as a delicious a la carte menu for the more discerning diner. While trying Chef Gary's succulent delights, our friendly staff can advise you on a wine from our extensive wine list. We have a great balance of New Zealand white wines (the best in the world!) with some new Kiwi reds to help complement the fantastic Australian reds available. There is sure to be something for you...
To top off the experience, our dessert menu is there for the begging and is bound to meet even the most discriminating sweet tooth needs.
The Blue likes to think that it's one of Canterbury's major live venues for music and many renowned artists have played here. We offer the main bar as a venue and also Samuels Bar for the bigger touring bands. Just some of these bands who have played include Salmonella Dub, Rhombus, Dave Dobbyn, Elemenop, Drifters, The Exponents- the list goes on.
